FAQ

What is BM&A?

BM&A (Brazil Music and Arts) is a private, non-profit organization established in 2001 that seeks to contribute to a better world by generating knowledge and opportunities in the music industry, and thereby serve as a catalyst for the socioeconomic development of Brazil and, indirectly, other countries across the world. Our board is composed of professionals active in the industry and is renewed every three years. To learn more about BM&A, click here.

What is the Brazil Music Exchange (BME)?

The BME is a project to support the export of music, which has been developed since 2002 through a partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). It carries out several activities to promote Brazil’s international image and trade. The target population is companies that work in the music industry – record labels, editors, managers, distributors, agencies producing original work, and technology platforms – that already export or are interested in beginning this process.

Who are BM&A members?

They are companies, artists, and entrepreneurs who work in the music industry, such as managers, bookers, distributors, labels, publishers, PR firms, lawyers, and startups.

I am a festival programmer, music venue, or cultural center: How can I partner with BM&A?

BM&A offers incentive programs so that Brazilian music circulates in countries across the globe. If you are interested in becoming a BM&A partner, get in touch with us at atendimento@bma.org.br and let us know what your needs are.

How does BM&A work?

BM&A’s mission is to contribute to a better world by generating knowledge and opportunities in the music industry, and thereby be a catalyst for the socioeconomic development of Brazil. To do this, our work is centered around four pillars:

Training and Development: courses focused on developing essential skills of Brazilian entrepreneurs to ensure the sustainability of their music-related businesses.

Promotion and Image: activities that seek to enhance the image that international influencers have about music produced in Brazil.

Business and Networking: activities that facilitate the creation of projects and businesses, such as trade shows and business rounds, with a special focus on international markets.

Support for showcases: participating in trade shows and festivals across the world with performances by live acts.
