Céu, Tássia Reis, Höröyá and other artists in the Brazilian night at SXSW 2020

Céu e Tássia Reis SXSW
Brazil is a well-known participant in the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW), and this edition the country will be present again in a night full of Brazilian music. The Brasil Music Club has a lineup composed of seven artists and is part of the program of the world’s largest creative economy event, which will take place in March 16-22 in Austin, Texas.

CéuTássia ReisGlue TripHöröyáFingerFingerrrJoão Brasil e AlterMauz are the artists who are going to perform in March 21 at Lucille Patio Lounge, one of the official music venues holding the event. The gigs are supported by Brasil Music Exchange — a Brazilian music fostering project carried out by means of a partnership between Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

Brazil is also going to take to the festival a group composed of 12 companies, which will be there representing their businesses and artists and exchanging experiences with professionals from the music industry. These are the companies participating in the event: Brain Productions Booking, Danks Produções Culturais, Jota Monte Produções, Sala de Produções, Banana Nude, Mugshot, Show Livre, Hangar 18 Music Ventures, Mandril Audio, Audio SP, iMusica, Fina Produção, Urban Jungle, Ultrassom Music Ideas.

According to Leandro Ribeiro, BME Executive Manager, SXSW is a great opportunity for artists and bands interested in the foreign market to exchange experiences and ideas. “The US market is hard to penetrate, but it is a powerful opinion maker – that is, if we manage to stand out, it could reverberate not only in the USA, but also in other countries. As SXSW is one of the largest creative economy events in the world, developing a well-thought-out action plan for such festival could generate positive results not only for the artists we support, but also for the image of Brazilian music as a whole”, he says.
