Brasil Music Summit will take place in October 6-10 in São Paulo
Among the performances of several talented artists who are looking for international opportunities, Brazilian band Höröya drew the attention of Pete Kelly, Head of Music BT Sports, a TV channel in the United Kingdom. Their meeting occurred during the previous edition of the Brasil Music Summit (BMS), in 2019. After that day, the band signed an agreement to record the theme song of the Premier League, the English soccer championship.
And that was just one of the many contacts that created business opportunities for the Brazilian artists participating in BMS, which already has the date and place set for the 2020 edition: October 6-10 at Unibes Cultural, in São Paulo. Organized by Brasil Música & Artes (BM&A) by means of Brasil Music Exchange – a Brazilian music fostering project carried out by a partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) –, the event continues focusing on music exportation in the fields of sync, music branding and live music.
“Every year we work hard to make the program better and to invite more foreign professionals. This is a unique opportunity for Brazilian artists to close deals and explore the market without investing much money in order to participate in events overseas”, says Leandro Ribeiro, BME Project Manager.
In its two previous editions, the event brought to Brazil highly respected professionals, including music directors and music supervisors who work mainly with audiovisual production and advertising in Hollywood, in the United States. They made their contribution to the event by sharing their expertise and making contact with Brazilian artists. With a varied series of showcases, artists such as singers Emicida, Karol Conká and Céu and group Bixiga 70, among others, have already performed on the BMS stage.
