Only a few days after BRMusicExchange‘s attendance to 2012′s Midem, we can definitely assure that the participation on the event was better than expected in terms of promotion of the Brazilian music. And even though only a couple of weeks have passed since then, we are already harvesting great results!
The successful partnership between BME and Songlines Magazine (the publication came out during the event with an exclusive compilation of Brazilian music), was very well received by the attendants at the conference and is still being mentioned by many of those who got the opportunity to listen to it.
Paul Geoghegan, owner of Songlines Magazine, is one of those who cannot hide his excitement towards the project. It is known that he is very pleased with the results, having shared with some friends that, in his opinion, this is one of the best CDs the publication has ever had.
The compilation also gathered admirers on social networks, specially twitter. British journalist Howard Male, best known for his Sunday report on Arts and Entertainment on The Independent, confessed online: “Just listening to the fab Brazilian CD that came free with @SonglinesMag. If I wasn’t a skinflint music hack I’d pay good money for this.”
Other two enthusiasts of the collection of new Brazilian songs are BBC UK radio presenter Lopa Kothari and Radio 1 producer and also presenter Zjakki Willems. Kothar wrote to us to compliment the compilation and mention that she is including tracks of the CD on this Friday’s (10th) show. To check it out, go to: www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/worldon3
Willems is also, coincidently, going to include some of the chosen Brazilian tracks on this Friday’s webcast. According to him, on the following episode of Closing Time World (http://www.radio1.be/closingtimeworld), Cabruêra, Felipe Cordeiro, DJ Tudo, DJ Guga de Castro and Funk Como Le Gusta will be introduced and recommended to the audience. You can listen to some of BrMusicExchange’s previous compilations on our radio.
Enjoy!
